The Bean Tree

We are a family owned and run vegetarian food company. Most of our food is also Vegan and Gluten free. Since 1996, when we started in St. Nicholas Market, Galway we have been selling our Madras Pea and Potato Curry (vegan and gluten free) with optional yoghurt and a selection of pickles, buttered chapattis (non-yeast, traditional Indian flat bread) and stuffed chapattis with a vegetarian filling, all ready to eat.   Each Saturday we also have a selection of our other vegetarian dishes, both chilled and frozen.  You'll find us at the market every Saturday where you'll be welcome to sample our food.

Breckish Dairies
Hugo has been on the Galway Market selling cheese since he moved from Holland to Ireland in 1979. Bringing in the Dutch tradition of cheesemaking he produces his own Breckish cows - and goats cheeses. The cheeses are well known in the Galway area for their delicate taste and different flavours (cummin seed, garlic, herbs, smoked cheese). Apart from the Breckish cheese, there's an international range of other cheeses (Irish cheddar, French brie, Danish blue, Dutch Gouda etc.) and farmhouse products like jam, free-range eggs and yoghurt.
Please visit our stall on Saturday at the Galway market and we'll be pleased to give you a taste of our cheese !

The Bánh mì  Shop

John's been on the market selling his Bánh mì (Vietnamese sandwiches) since 2016.
He makes his sandwiches using local produce and fresh herbs and he also makes spicy & funky kimchi to finish your banh mi.
Fresh baguettes are delivered every morning from the French bakery, 'Le Petit Delice' which is just a stone's throw from St. Nicholas and the pork for his most popular banh mi, sticky 5 spice pork belly, is sourced from Collerans butchers who have been trading in Galway for over 80 years just at the back of Galway Market.

He also offers Vegetarian and sometimes gluten-free options and specials which change every week according to what's in season, always made from scratch!
